The Japanese love their robots. And a new ‘groundbreaking’ one, co-developed by Osaka University and Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute (ATR), is downright scary. Not only does the Telenoid R1 look like an unborn infant from Stephen King’s deepest horrors, it moves. The thing doesn’t even have fingers or legs, just stumps and a tail that squirms about.
